Youth Camp

You must receive approval from Phyllis Papa prior to signing up for this class.


This program is designed to help dancers develop essential skills, including technique, strength, and flexibility.


Class schedule: June 30, 2025 to July 24, 2025 Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.


Includes the following classes:

1. Technique (Daily)

2.  Strength (Two times per week)

3.  Stretch (Two times per week)

Our ballet class performing.

Under the direction of school director and world class ballerina, Phyllis Papa, students will receive training in ballet. Classical training will apply the Russian technique as well as the Bournonville technique. Both of these techniques serve to abide by the laws of anatomy. 

Students learn the difference between the French and Cecchetti techniques and be able to recognize the differences.


The ballet syllabus emphasizes precision of movement, clarity of line with the development of the use of body, legs and feet.


Students learn correct placement and posture.

French terminology is strictly enforced in each class.The student learn the French but they also learn what it means in English.



A clear understanding of what the technique is and how to execute it is learned as well as musical terms in Italian such as Adagio, Allegro, Adagio, etc

Strength

Stretch

Our ballet conditioning and the stretching class focuses on strengthening, toning and stretching different parts of the body. The purpose of dance conditioning is to provide a training regimen to help dancers develop physical endurance, strength, flexibility and coordination. Our program comes in the form of floor barre, physical therapy exercises and additional forms of exercise such as yoga, Pilates or Gyrotonic®
