This is for the advanced dancer, during the Summer International Intensive Camp, we offer the traditional classes as seen in the fall calendar; however, we also have additional classes to focus on technique, partnering, strength, stretch, variations, and contemporary ballet.

June 30, 2025 to July 24, 2025 Monday through Thursdays from 11 am to 3 pm.
The last week of July 28, 2025 to July 31, 2025 is for Students 13 years old and up from 11 am to 3 pm.
Again, all girls must be en pointe and everyone must have approval from Phyllis Papa to attend either session.

Under the direction of school director and world class ballerina, Phyllis Papa, students will receive training in ballet. Classical training will apply the Russian technique as well as the Bournonville technique. Both of these techniques serve to abide by the laws of anatomy.
Students learn the difference between the French and Cecchetti techniques and be able to recognize the differences.
The ballet syllabus emphasizes precision of movement, clarity of line with the development of the use of body, legs and feet.
Students learn correct placement and posture.
French terminology is strictly enforced in each class.The student learn the French but they also learn what it means in English.
A clear understanding of what the technique is and how to execute it is learned as well as musical terms in Italian such as Adagio, Allegro, Adagio, etc.

Our ballet conditioning and the stretching class focuses on strengthening, toning and stretching different parts of the body. The purpose of dance conditioning is to provide a training regimen to help dancers develop physical endurance, strength, flexibility and coordination. Our program comes in the form of floor barre, physical therapy exercises and additional forms of exercise such as yoga, Pilates or Gyrotonic®

Variations are short dances from full-length ballets that include solos, duets, trios, or small groups. In our class, extra time and attention is devoted to these pieces, to further develop the dancers, and present these pieces in our ballet performances.

Contemporary is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several genres, including modern, jazz and classical ballet. It tends to combine strong but controlled legwork of ballet with modern dance, which stresses on torso. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid movement.
